Hot Sound Recording Studios specializes in live music recording, mixing, and mastering. The studio gives clients who are music-oriented a comfortable, well-equipped place in which to work, established by musicians and engineers.

After fifteen years in Manhattan, we're expanding to a huge loft 5 minutes from lower Manhattan, in Brooklyn. All three of our new studios feature bright and sunny control rooms with huge windows, as well as private lounges for each studio, a kitchen, even a 1500' roof garden with views of the Manhattan skyline and New York Harbor. Our two live rooms feature fifteen foot ceilings with beautiful natural light and multiple booths. Our Studio One live room is over 500 square feet. Our orientation is a combination of the best in vintage and modern recording gear. Current gear like three Pro Tools systems, the latest HD 7 software, and Apogee converters share space with classic Neve consoles, vintage outboard, and Studer 2" & Ampex 1/2" & 1/4" tape machines. We assembled our Neve console (Studio One) by joining two custom Neve consoles together to work as one, and adapting it from film mixing use to music recording and mixing. We have many pieces of classic gear, all lovingly restored to better-than-new condition. All three of our studios are wired point-to-point with Mogami cable, including mic cables and patch cords! Getting here is easy, both by subway and by car. By car, we're just five minutes from the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel. We're 2 blocks from the exit of I-278 (BQE), with easy highway access to all five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut, and New Jersey. By subway, we're 20 minutes (3 stops) from Union Square on the N express, 23 minutes (4 stops) from West 4 Street - Washington Square on the D express, and 25 minutes (5 stops) from West 34th Street - Penn Station on the D express.
